The Founder
Eighteen years of building. One name on every project.
MNBE is led by founder Aharon Elisha, who has been a working builder in the Pacific Northwest since 2008. Before MNBE, Aharon spent more than a decade learning every trade on the job. Framing, finish carpentry, structural retrofits, and full-home renovations across Seattle, Bellevue, and Kirkland.
The studio was incorporated as MNBE Construction & Development to focus on what Aharon does best: new custom homes, ADUs, DADUs, and permit-ready design. Not subcontracted out. Not handed to a junior PM. Every project is supervised by the person whose license number is on the permit.
That focus is the difference between a builder you talk to once and a builder who answers your texts on a Saturday. It's the reason MNBE clients refer their friends.

Most ADU and DADU projects take eight to fourteen months from first call to certificate of occupancy, including design, permitting, and construction. Permitting alone typically runs three to six months in Seattle, with the Eastside cities (Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Mercer Island) usually moving slightly faster. We give every client a written timeline at the start of the project that accounts for the realistic permitting reality of their specific city. We don't quote ninety-day fantasies.
Every MNBE project is bid as a fixed-price contract after one free site visit and a design consultation. We don't publish per-square-foot pricing because every Seattle and Eastside lot has its own variables: soil, slope, setbacks, utility tie-ins, design ambition, and what we discover behind walls in older homes. The few projects that match an averaged number end up nothing like the one we'd actually quote you. Honest version: tell us your scope, we'll walk your lot, and we'll come back with a written bid you can compare line by line against any other contractor.
We handle everything. MNBE is a full design-build general contractor, which means architectural drawings, structural engineering coordination, energy code compliance, city submittals, plan-check responses, and construction are all under one contract. You sign one agreement, you call one phone number, and the same person who approves your scope is the one supervising the framing crew. That's the model.
HB 1337, which took effect in 2024, expanded ADU rights statewide. In nearly every single-family-zoned property across King, Snohomish, and Pierce County, you can now build at least two ADUs (one attached and one detached, or two attached). Owner-occupancy requirements are gone in most cities. Setbacks were reduced. Off-street parking requirements were eliminated within a half mile of frequent transit. We walk every prospective client through what HB 1337 specifically allows on their lot during the consultation. Every property is different.
