Kirkland backyards come with mature trees, and the city protects them. Tree protection fencing went up before the first scoop of dirt, and a certified arborist monitored the excavation and the root pruning along the footings.
The foundation phase is done: footings and stem walls poured, underground plumbing stubbed, rigid insulation and rebar placed, and the slab poured. Framing started right after: the walls are up and sheathed in plywood, and the second floor is taking shape.
Aharon is supervising the build from excavation through final inspection, and this page grows with the project. New stages get added as the work happens.

Before the stage-by-stage walk-through, here is the site today: the slab is poured, the walls are framed and sheathed in plywood, and the second floor is going on.

A mini excavator digs the footprint inside the tree protection fencing, with an arborist monitoring the dig.

A two-story DADU under mature trees takes patience. We fenced the trees on day one, had the arborist on site for the dig, and kept every root cut clean. Now the foundation is in and the walls are up. I walk this site every week, and every stage goes on this page as it happens.
