White Center is one of the most practical places in the Seattle area to add an ADU: flat lots, friendly setbacks, and a fast growing neighborhood just south of West Seattle. This project puts a full 500 sq ft home with two bedrooms, a full kitchen, and a full bath on a lot that was bare grass a few weeks ago.
The foundation phase is done: footings and stem walls poured, underground plumbing stubbed through the slab, rigid insulation and rebar placed, and the slab finished and cured. Since then the crew has framed and sheathed the structure, and plumbing and electrical rough-in is underway now. Once those pass final inspection, sheetrock goes up and the finish phase begins.
Aharon is supervising the build from excavation through final inspection, and this page grows with the project. New stages get added as the work happens, through to the finished reveal.

Before the stage by stage walk-through, here is the site today: framed and sheathed, roof deck on, windows staged on site, and rough-in underway inside.

A mini excavator strips the overgrown grass and cuts the lot down to workable grade. Corners staked, footprint laid out, first day of real work.
Perimeter trenches cut to engineered depth with form lumber staged along the lines. The 500 sq ft footprint starts reading on the ground.
Footing forms squared and braced, rebar bent and tied through the runs. Inspector ready, then the pour.
Concrete goes into the footing and stem wall forms. The crew works the mix down the line and screeds it level.
Stem walls curing in their forms along the trench line. The building's edge is now set in concrete.
Washed gravel spread and compacted inside the stem walls: the capillary break and level base under the slab.
Waste and vent lines run below grade and stubbed up through the gravel exactly where the kitchen and the full bath land.
Rigid foam sheets down over the base with the slab rebar grid tied above: a warm, code compliant floor assembly.
The slab is poured, finished, and curing, with anchor bolts at the perimeter and stubs standing exactly to plan. Foundation complete. Framing is next.
The framing package lands on site and layout starts on the cured slab: pressure treated sill plates first, then the walls. From here the building goes vertical fast.
The first wall sections stand on the slab, plumbed and braced. The floor plan is suddenly readable: two bedrooms, kitchen, and bath in 500 square feet.
The full perimeter and interior partitions are framed, with window and door openings set. The whole shape of the home is up.
OSB sheathing wraps the walls and the roof deck is on. Window openings are cut, the new windows are staged on site, and rough-in moves inside.
