The old structure is taken down to the studs and reframed, then sheathed. A new floor system goes in with a vapor barrier under the joists, followed by new plumbing and electrical.
Outside: house wrap, lap siding and a new deck. Inside: insulation, drywall, and the cabinets and built-ins.
It ends with the finished kitchen, the wet room with a soaking tub, the laundry, a bedroom and the front of the home. Completed in 2025.
This 48-second film is built mostly from MNBE construction photographs, with some job-site footage, set to instrumental music with no spoken narration. The opening sets the century-old structure, stripped and being reframed, beside the finished DADU. The shell is sheathed, a new floor system goes in with a vapor barrier under the joists, and new plumbing and electrical follow. Outside come house wrap, lap siding and a new deck; inside, insulation, drywall and the cabinets. The final scenes show the finished kitchen, the wet room with a soaking tub, the hallway, laundry and a bedroom, and the front of the home at dusk.
