Magnolia is one of Seattle's most desirable residential neighborhoods. The lots are tight, the trees are mature, and the design expectations are high. A DADU on a Magnolia lot has to thread the needle between code-required setbacks, neighborhood character, and the homeowner's design vision.
This Magnolia DADU is now in the finish phase. The structure is up, sided, roofed, and dried in. Inside, drywall is hung and mudded. The remaining work is cabinets, the full bathroom, the Murphy bed, and the final paint and trim. We expect handover and final reveal photography in about one to two weeks.
Construction sequencing followed the standard MNBE phases: foundation engineered to the lot's specific soils, two-by-six framing with continuous exterior insulation, mini-split heat pump for heating and cooling, full kitchen and bath, and a clean handover when finished.
The reveal section below uses placeholders. Real finished photos will replace them once the project is closed out.
